What a triumphant week it’s been at SilverRail Tech

On Tuesday evening SilverRail was crowned the winner of the ‘Best Technology Innovation’ award in front of 500+ industry peers at the 2016 Travolution Awards – the UK travel industry’s highest accolade for innovation and excellence online.

This was based on the entry that we submitted in June which focused on our SilverCore API – the world’s first unified platform for global rail distribution which is reducing rail complexity, and helping the rail industry to grow market share and build its profile by bringing rail to the forefront of travellers consideration. This was supported by a number of key partnerships, including: Expedia, Rome2Rio, Egenica, Deutsche Bahn, Trenitalia, Govia, StageCoach and Traveline.

The entry was judged by a panel of proven business leaders, experts and entrepreneurs – an extremely prestigious award that we are thrilled to have won.

It didn’t stop there. On Wednesday SilverRail was named a bronze winner in the ‘Best Place to Work – medium category (100-999 employees)’ in Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts.
Our award entry focused on employee satisfaction and employee well-being, looking at factors such as flexible work arrangements, mentoring, financial and lifestyle perks. Here are some of the snippets taken directly from our entry:

“SilverRail works in a fast-paced, complicated industry, tackling issues that have never been solved before. Striving to transform the future of rail and multi-modal transport through innovative technology; its Boston team built the world’s first and only global rail platform.”

“SilverRail’s growth has been a direct result of the employees that drive it forward. In the last year alone the Boston team has grown by 32%.”
“With a Glassdoor rating of 4.7 / 5 (Glassdoor state the company average is 3.7) and with 81% of employees stating that they’re proud to work here, it is clear that SilverRail’s people are devoted and happy to work there.”
“SilverRail recognises that a talented team needs extra fuel to power their brains. That’s why there is a fully stocked kitchen so that no one runs on empty. Monthly catered team lunches encourage everyone to get together and harness the power of team thinking.”

“A core value at SilverRail is “we enjoy life” and this is reflected in a rich set of activities and charity events throughout the year. The latest being the ‘2016 Office Olympics’ where the entire team competed in events such as Speed Scooting, Freestyle Post-It Sticking and Office Chair Triathlon. On top of frequent office activities, every new starter receives a free Fitbit to help them stay active.

The sixth annual program in North America garnered more than 600 entries, from an impressive array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada. Winners were determined based on scoring from an independent panel of 50 judges from widely known newspapers, business, consumer and technology publications, TV outlets, and analyst firms. All in all, a remarkable week. One that highlights the tremendous talent, work and dedication that comes from every single one of our employees. #SilverRailersRock!
