SilverRail is delighted to have played a role in supporting the launch of Flexi-Seasons in the UK, aimed at commuters who travel two or three days a week.
The pandemic has significantly increased the number of people who work from home, and has therefore changed the frequency with which people have to travel to work.
As part of the government’s planned overhaul of UK rail, Flexi-Seasons have been introduced across the network, offering greater freedom, choice and value for money to passengers. . It has been estimated that commuters could save between £60 and £350 a year on selected journeys with these new tickets.
SilverRail has worked closely with both the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) to operationalise the new fares in National Rail Enquiries and on Chiltern Railways. Passengers can now purchase Flexi-Seasons across multiple digital platforms and we have developed the capability to have the products delivered in various smart ticket formats, including ITSO Smart Card and barcodes, via the SilverCore Ticket Issuing System.
